High School Placement
The high school placement process in the New York City independent and public school realm is complex. The journey begins in the spring of Grade 7 and culminates with successful high school enrollment. Students from our Bedford-Stuyvesant location travel to high schools in New York City, Long Island and beyond.
The transition to high school can be intense, but our high school placement counselor is an experienced resource for our seventh and eighth grade families.
Seventh and eighth grade families and students work with the counselor to identify, explore, prepare for, apply to and enroll in high schools that meet each student’s academic, social and emotional needs.
Advisory services include an orientation workshop in the fall of seventh grade, and ongoing meetings, conferences and general information and guidance to help families and students confidently navigate this important transition.
