Specialty Programs

Specialty programs offer a rich array of subjects, taught by qualified specialists who can deepen and extend the learning and life experiences of students at each grade level.

Specialty subjects are chosen for their ability to cultivate the various human capacities they address. Beyond this, the specific subjects (i.e. Mandarin for foreign language) are chosen for their relevance to the time and place in which our students live. The curriculum within each subject is intended to awaken and build new capacities within each child, introduce and cultivate their appreciation for the subject matter, and provide developmentally appropriate challenges and opportunities for growth.

Specialty classes currently include two foreign languages (Mandarin and Spanish), eurythmy, handwork, music, and games/spatial dynamics.
