Reenrollment for the 2010-11 School Year

All current parents are required to complete the steps listed below for reenrollment for the 2010-11 school year. Since openings are limited and we have a large pool of applicants, your attention to the deadlines is critical.

Step 1: Complete the Reenrollment and 3-Tier Request Form

Please note: Tier 1 & 2 applicants need to upload all supporting financial documentation, as listed below, within this form. You will be prompted to create a login and password, which will allow you to save the form partially completed and return to complete it later.

Step 2: Recieve a reenrollment acceptance letter or email, with tier award information.

Step 3: Download, sign and return your contract with your non-refundable 10% deposit by the deadline listed below.

All contracts must be signed and returned by the dealine below in order to guarantee your child a place in his/her class. Make checks payable to "The Brooklyn Waldorf School."

Step 4: Payment Plan:

We have partnered with FACTS Management Company to help us manage our tuition payment program. We are excited to be working with them and are confident this program will offer greater efficiency and financial stability for the school while providing convenience to families. For more information, please see the detailed letter.

If you choose to pay tuition via a payment plan follow the following steps:

a) Set up your log-in for FACTS Management to create your payment plan, according to your contract.

b) The Business Office will approve your payment plan with FACTS Management.

c) Your details may be viewed in your FACTS Managment account.



Tier 1 or 2 Requests Only

If you are requesting Tier 1 or 2, a complete application consists of the following supporting financial documentation:

- Parents’ Financial Statement (PFS) . The Brooklyn Waldorf School code is 4339.
- Report of Family Contribution (RFC), which is generated by SSS based on the PFS you submit. The RFC is sent directly to the school. If you wish to have a copy, please request it when you complete your PFS.

Income Supporting Documents consist of:

- A copy of your 2008 Federal Income Tax Returns and all schedules
- A copy of your 2009 W2s and/or 1099s for each parent and wage earner in the family and your 2009 Federal Income Tax Returns and all schedules.
- A copy of the most recent pay stub for each parent and wage earner in the family.
- If you own a business, a copy of your 2008 Corporate Tax Returns, and when available, a copy of your 2009 Corporate Tax Returns.

The above Tier 1 and 2 documentation should be submitted within the Reenrollment and 3-Tier Request Form by the deadline below. If you cannot submit these documents online, please deliver a copy to the main office. Your request will be reviewed only after all documents have been received.


Deadlines for 2010-11

February 22, 2010: Deadline to submit all supporting financial documentation for Tier 1 & 2 Applicants

March 12, 2010: Deadline to submit your contract with 10% non-refundable deposit


Tier Meetings

1. Tier Meetings are offered to parents when the Business Office finds a discrepancy between the Tier requested and the Estimated Family Contribution reported by the SSS Nais, and has questions about the financial information that cannot easily be resolved through electronic forms of communication.

2. Tier Meetings can be requested by a parents to review the Tier Committee's decision or for an appeal to a Tier award (for appeal, please see below)


Right to Appeal

Parents have the right to appeal a Tier Award. All appeals need to be accompanied by a family budget, to be completed at: http://www.brooklynwaldorf.org/forms.financialreport.shtml
